Eve Astle 'HYbird Future'
Date:
02/09/2010 - 17/09/2010
Venue: PAD Gallery Preston
HYbird Future has been borne by Eve Astle. The work has evolved over two years whilst studying a MA Fashion & Lifestyle Promotion degree at UCLan. Eve’s work has focused around the understanding and communication of different consumer groups. Exploring our behaviour and reactions to the recession and also considering what new trends for the future will shape how we consume and behave. The final output is a new customer profiling system using our wonderful British birds as an analogy for different groups of people. Come and see the trends of 2020 and work out which HYbird you are.

PAD Loves….Sarah Mitchell ‘Little Paper Bird’
Date:
04/09/2010 - 30/10/2010
Venue: PAD Gallery Preston
Sarah is currently living in Leeds where she studied for her Fine Art degree at Leeds Metropolitan University. Her work revolves predominately round paper, books and their endless possibilities. She loves the way the paper feels in her hands, the rustle or snap as pages are turned. Sarah likes the way a book can sit innocently on a shelf and yet open to reveal any number of surprises. It is this that excites her. She is interested in the way books are put together, their binding and structure, and it is this that she likes to experiment with.
There will be a varied selection of Sarah’s work in PAD from the 4th September. Some pieces will be left for the individual to experiment with, to see what shapes can be formed and see for themselves the various possibilities that both paper and books hold.
